Anna: Victorian Cottage Bonnet with Pansies
This lovely bonnet is based on my "Mary" cottage bonnet style. It was popular during both the Regency and the Victiorian era. Here, I have updated the trimming style to something more appropriate for mid Victorian/Civil War style events. I have used wide ribbon across the top, which is gathered into small bows on the sides, with long tails for tying. Artificial pansies in your choice of colors will decorate the side. Please choose ribbon and flower colors.
This bonnet (with purple pansies and purple ribbons) was recently seen in the Sight and Sound film, I Heard the Bells, the story of how William Wordsworth penned the poem which became the Christms Carol, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day".
